This gig sucks!

today was spike's birthday, so corona and i got together to help him celebrate. we started with some beers, and i made everyone a lasagna ( my first one! ) and gave spike his present, which was a bunch of stuff for his bathroom ... a mat and soap dispenser and the like. also, "Old School" on DVD, which he was looking forward to seeing. he enjoyed it in the theatre and wanted to see the extra scenes, so i got it for him. Will Farrell is the funniest man alive, I swear ...

spike can't eat chocolate, and so after unsucessfully trying to find him some kind of cake without it at the local grocery store, corona decided that he had to have something so she picked him up a half moon ( it's like a twinkie, only bigger and shaped ... um ... like a half moon) and we stuck a candle in it and gave it to him. he only took one bite, but i think that the sentiment was appreciated.

we also downloaded every mp3 we could find that had the word "birthday" in it. by the end of the night, our playlist included (sorry if the names aren't right ):

The Beatles - You Say it's Your Birthday
Marilyn Monroe - Happy Birthday Mister President
50 cent - it's your birthday
<---- i know this title isn't right
Elvis Presley - Happy Happy Birthday
New Kids on the Block - Happy Birthday to You
The Simpsons Featuring the Ramones - Happy Birthday, Mr. Burns
luke - It's Your Birthday

... among others ....

after dinner we got all gussied up and went to the velvet underground and met some friends for beers, beers and more beers.

at about two in the morning, it was time to retire, as our silly asses had to all be at work the next day. ( well ... 'cept for corona ... be-yatch! ahahah ) ... spike, of course, was glad to be near a bed ...
