things i love about my violet

WARNING: this is a very sappy entry about my dog

1. she stinks, but in a good way (except when she's farting, which is a lot)

2. she snores like a truck driver

3. when she sits down, she kind of lounges off to the side, non-chalantly.

4. her body is shaped like a stumpy little jelly bean, so she can't lick her butt (like most dogs)... i mean, you ever try to bend a jelly bean in half ...???

5. she follows me wherever i go, and she looks up to me, and it's almost like she *would* look up to me, and doesn't *have* to 'cause she's only 11 inches tall

6. she keeps me warm at night like a little hot water bottle

7. when you say words she likes (like "bicycle" or "hamburger" or "chicken") she gives you her full attention and tilts her head from side to side, like she's *really* giving you a listen ..

8. she will fetch and fetch and fetch, and loves tug-o-war, although she's so small it's easy to pick her up when she attaches herself to the toy de jour

9. she keeps the floor clean of food

10. ... but messy with kitty litter (she's box trained)

11. she is so excited to see me when i come home to her it's like a party is being thrown for me every day

12. she's a total drama queen ... she sighs emphatically when she's unhappy and even pouts

13. her loud barks at people at the door make me feel safe when i am alone

14. she's always wearing the same outfit as me (we like basic black)

15. she's the best dish-washer known to man (kidding)

16. she's shy and quiet, and is always hiding behind my legs from the strangers who all want to pet her

17. she has a foot fetish: she would much rather be petted if you use your feet instead of your hands ... and under her leg is the best spot. if you start to pet her there, she'll lift up her leg and look like she's going to pee on you.

18. she's the best company there is ... she's always there beside you and like spike says, she's "like the best friend who is just happy to sit there and be with you, even if you have nothing to say to one another"

19. she gets super hyper, but it's only for like twenty minutes. then it's nap time. (or as spike says: she's hyper-hypo, and then she's sleey-sleepo)

20. when she goes to the beach, she rolls around in the sand like mad, getting it all over her face until she's a sandy mess with two huge black eyes blinking at you

21. she can give you "five"

22. ... she's the best friend i have ever had, and she knows me better than anyone else in the world ...
