a letter to shane

dear shaner

thank you for your lovely and endearing letter. news of your llama touching and rodeo adventures filled our hearts with pure joy and envy. if only there was a greater abundance of llamas in toronto! then we could share in your llama exploits. alas, this is not to be.

things on our end have been quite exciting! spike was recently inducted into the guiness book of world records for stacking hamsters. also, he was appointed president of the benevolent brotherhood of beavers (he's known as the "big beaver"). we are all so very proud. he should be getting some extra tail for that one! (ha ha).

i myself have been keeping quite busy. recently hired on as the director of astrobiology and mission assurance at nasa. the pay is good, but i have no idea what the heck i am doing. i suspect that they hired me by accident. however, i am quite a hit with my co-workers, and i spend many work-hours entertaining them with my finely honed columbo impersonation. there have only been minor casualties in relation to my mishaps on the job. spike is ever so proud!

as for little violet, well, she's left us ... to run as the lead dog in the upcoming iditarod. it takes a lot of training, i understand, and she is quite dedicated. i just hope that if she wins this year, she doesn't return to us with a chip on her shoulder the size of the one she had when she won westminster! she can be such a diva sometimes.

well, my unknown duties at nasa are calling. it was very nice to hear from you, and i hope you do remain in touch! i also hope sincerly that some llamas come our way soon.

really.

i want a llama.

much love and licks to you and your ravishing bride,

lex and spike
